Frequently Asked Questions

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapists (PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Do you take my insurance?

Refer to our accepted list of private insurances. This list is not a comprehensive list, so please call with any questions. We also work with Motor Vehicle and Workers Compensation insurances for claims.

How much does physical therapy cost?

Your insurance will always be billed first. Any remaining cost after insurance has been billed is specific to your personal health insurance company and health insurance plan. We always recommend that you take charge of your health and are aware of your individualized health plan benefits. As a courtesy, Oregon Neurosport Physical Therapy will check your health plan benefits, but will not guarantee benefits or payment.

How often do I have to go to physical therapy?

Generally, patients should plan for 1-2 times a week. However, this is dependent on your goals and the treatment plan put in place with your physical therapist at your initial evaluation.

Will my physician automatically schedule my physical therapy once they give me a referral?

No. Your physician will give you a referral, and possibly have one faxed to us, and then it will be your responsibility to follow up and schedule your own physical therapy if you do not hear from us.

If you have additional questions that are not addressed here, please contact us at the clinic.
